Firewall Software - How to configure to work with Netintelligence
From Netintelligence Knowledge Base
In general, you have to allow first the Netintelligence installation program, then the Netintelligence Client program, through your firewall.
Most firewalls provide alerts to your desktop when they detect that a program is trying to access the internet. This will happen first when the Netintelligence installation program tries to access the internet to verify the licence details you have provided. When this happens, you should allow the access.
You will get another alert after installation when the Netintelligence Client program tries to send data back to the Netintelligence servers via the internet. When this happens, you should allow the access. Remember that Netintelligence provides constant monitoring of your computer(s) using your broadband connection, so you must allow the application to access the internet in order for it to carry out its job. You should specify that the Netintelligence Client should always be permitted access to the internet, in whatever manner this is done with your particular firewall software.
If your firewall software doesn't support the kind of alerts described above, you should be able to open the firewall's administrative tool and make the settings manually. Please refer to your firewall's documentation for instructions on how to do this.
Netintelligence is automatically upgraded from time to time. This may result in your firewall re-blocking the Netintelligence Client program. Please allow internet access again for the Netintelligence Client program to restore full functionality.
